About us

Formed in January 1999 as a trading division of Goodfellow & Egan Phototypesetting, Cambridge Publishing Management became part of the Thomas Potts group in November 1999. It was subsequently bought by its management team in March 2003.

The company is still managed and owned by the team who orchestrated the buy-out in 2003; Jackie Dobbyne is Managing Director, Tim Newton is Production Director and Adrian Povey is Non-executive Director.

Our editorial team has many years of expertise in a variety of subject areas and can rise to any challenge that may be thrown at them. CPM also has an experienced production team who have worked in a number of publishing environments on a wide range of publications.

Originally operating from Cambridge, the company’s offices moved to a light and airy converted barn 8 miles west of the city in 2004.

Working at CPM

CPM is a great place to work — pleasant offices and friendly colleagues. We believe that we should share our success with our colleagues and everyone participates in a performance-related profit-sharing bonus.

Freelancers

We expect the highest standards from our freelance suppliers, and all prospective freelance copy-editors and proofreaders are asked to complete a short test. We also require a full CV and samples of previous work where possible, especially in the case of designers and photographers. If you are interested in joining our freelance database, please send your information to Kate Taylor (recruit@cambridgepm.co.uk).

Authors

CPM is a book production company and not a publisher. Authors wishing to write on commissioned projects for our publisher clients should submit a full CV and samples of previous paid work to Catherine Burch, Editorial Manager (recruit@cambridgepm.co.uk). We also offer editorial, design and production services to authors who wish to self-publish.
